Our Chair Nigel Hopkins and Chair for Heart of Medway Housing Association, Sandra Skeete introduce the roles

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in joining the boards of mhs homes group and Heart of Medway Housing Association. These are exciting opportunities for those who are passionate about making a real difference in our communities.

At mhs homes, we are committed to providing safe, secure, and affordable homes as a stepping stone to a better future. We believe everyone deserves a decent home, and our ambition is to help end the housing crisis in North Kent by keeping the customer voice at the heart of everything we do. This year has been a landmark for Heart of Medway. Following our first regulatory inspection, we achieved the highest possible gradings of G1, V1 and C1. These results reflect our strong governance, financial resilience, and unwavering commitment to customers. We are proud of this achievement, which demonstrates the strength of our leadership and the dedication of our teams.

The future for mhs homes and Heart of Medway is full of possibility. We’re investing in innovation, strengthening partnerships, and also building on the expertise of our experienced Executive Team, who are united in driving meaningful change for our customers and communities. We are now seeking exceptional individuals to join us in two key roles:

  • Group Board Member and Member of Heart of Medway Board – bringing strategic insight and professional expertise in asset management, investment and development.
  • Heart of Medway Board Member – offering leadership experience in customer and housing management services.

Both roles require individuals who share our PRIDE values of pride, empathy, respect, inclusion, and drive, and who can help us deliver on our strategic priorities: being a visible and caring landlord, providing safe and sustainable homes, listening and acting on customers’ views, championing our communities, and ensuring strong governance and financial resilience.

We are committed to building boards that reflect the diversity of the communities we serve and welcome applications from people with a broad range of backgrounds and perspectives. While local knowledge is helpful, it is not essential.

Thank you again for considering these opportunities. We look forward to receiving your application and to welcoming new colleagues who will bring both support and constructive challenge to our work.
